Negative Assessment at 46%, Just 2%p Behind Positive; Neck-and-Race Within Margin of Error

According to a Gallup Korea poll, 44% of respondents rated the President’s job performance positively, while 46% rated it negatively. The gap between positive and negative evaluations was just 2 percentage points (pct. pt.), indicating a tight race within the margin of error (±3.1 pct. pt.). Party support stood at the Democratic Party of Korea at 41%, the People Power Party at 25%, and those with no party affiliation at 28%.

Evaluation of President's Job Performance

44% of respondents said the President is doing a good job. 46% said the President is doing a poor job. The gap between the two figures was 2 percentage points, which is not a statistically significant difference. 10% of respondents withheld their opinion.

Party Support Ratings

The support rate for the Democratic Party of Korea was found to be 41%. The People Power Party stood at 25%. The gap between the two parties was 16 percentage points, significantly exceeding the margin of error, with the Democratic Party of Korea recording a higher support rate. 28% of respondents said they had no supporting party.

Comparison with Previous Survey and Trends

Compared to the previous survey on the 23rd of last month, positive ratings fell sharply by 7 percentage points from 51% to 44%. Negative ratings rose sharply by 8 percentage points from 38% to 46%. Those withholding opinion decreased by 1 percentage point from 11% to 10%.
