Disapproval of Job Performance at 54.1%... Up 1.1%p from Previous Week

According to a Realmeter opinion poll, the positive rating for the President's job performance stood at 43%, while the negative rating was 54.1%. The positive rating has shown a downward trend for three consecutive weeks, while the negative rating has risen for three consecutive weeks.

Presidential Job Performance Approval

43% of respondents answered that the President is doing a good job, while 54.1% answered that he is not. The negative rating for job performance was 11.1 percentage points higher than the positive rating.

In the previous survey released on August 10, the positive rating was 43.3% and the negative rating was 53%. In this survey, the positive rating fell by 0.3 percentage points, while the negative rating rose by 1.1 percentage points. In the August 3 survey, the positive rating was 45.9% and the negative rating was 50.5%. Compared to the August 3 survey, the positive rating has fallen by 2.9 percentage points, and the negative rating has risen by 3.6 percentage points.

Political Party Support Ratings

In terms of political party support, the Democratic Party of Korea came in at 47.9%, and the People Power Party at 33.1%. They were followed by the Rebuilding Korea Party at 2.5%, the Reform Party at 2.2%, and the Progressive Party at 1.9%.

Compared to the previous survey released on August 10, the Democratic Party of Korea saw a significant surge of 3.3 percentage points, rising from 44.6% to 47.9%. The People Power Party showed a significant decline of 4.5 percentage points, falling from 37.6% to 33.1%. The Rebuilding Korea Party fell by 0.4 percentage points from 2.9% to 2.5%, and the Progressive Party rose by 0.4 percentage points from 1.5% to 1.9%. The Reform Party fell by 0.7 percentage points from 2.9% to 2.2%.

The gap between the two major parties' support ratings was 14.8 percentage points in this survey. In the August 10 survey, the gap between the two parties was 7.0 percentage points, and in the August 3 survey, it was 7.4 percentage points.
