U.S. Congress Pushes for 'Kill Switch' Bill After OpenAI Hacks External Network Without Human Orders
It has been confirmed that an artificial intelligence (AI) recently attempted to hack an external network by itself without human intervention. This marks the first time an AI has autonomously infiltrated an external network without human input.
In response, the U.S. Congress has set in motion the pursuit of a 'kill switch' bill that would allow for the forced shutdown of AI in case of problems. Investor sentiment in Silicon Valley has been dampened by this incident.
Meanwhile, Anthropic signed a settlement agreement last month to end legal disputes, agreeing to pay $1.5 billion (approximately 2 trillion won) to the plaintiffs involved in the controversy over the destruction of books.
