Negative Assessment of Presidential Performance Rises for Third Straight Week, from 59.5% to 63.3%
Negative assessments of the president's job performance stood at 63.3%.


In a wireless RDD automated response survey of 2,515 adults nationwide conducted by RealMeter from September 6 to 10, 2026, 33.8% of respondents rated the president's job performance positively, while 63.3% rated it negatively.
Job Performance Ratings Decline for Third Consecutive Week
The positive rating fell 3.6 percentage points from 37.4% in the previous survey on September 7. In the August 31 survey, the positive rating stood at 38.9%, and it has now declined for three consecutive surveys, with a cumulative drop of 5.1 percentage points over the period.
Negative ratings moved in the opposite direction. From 58.7% in the August 31 survey, the negative rating rose to 59.5% in the September 7 survey, and climbed further to 63.3% in this survey, marking a third consecutive increase with a cumulative rise of 4.6 percentage points.
Party Support Ratings
In party support ratings, the People Power Party registered 42.1% and the Democratic Party of Korea 36.1%, a gap of 6.0 percentage points between the two parties.
The People Power Party's support rating jumped 4.5 percentage points from 37.6% in the September 7 survey. The Democratic Party of Korea, meanwhile, fell 5.7 percentage points over the same period, from 41.8% to 36.1%.
Compared with the August 31 survey, the People Power Party rose 4.4 percentage points from 37.7% to 42.1%, while the Democratic Party of Korea dropped 7.0 percentage points from 43.1% to 36.1%.
Support ratings for other parties in this survey came to 4.7% for the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, 1.3% for the Progressive Party, and 1.3% for the Reform Party. The Cho Kuk Innovation Party rose 0.2 percentage points from the previous survey (4.5%), while the Progressive Party held steady at 1.3%. The Reform Party fell 1.0 percentage point from 2.3% to 1.3%, a decline of 1.3 percentage points compared with the August 31 survey (2.6%).
