The National Assembly will hold a plenary session at 2 p.m. on the 17th to vote on the appointment motion for Supreme Court Justice nominee Kim Sung-soo and to take up follow-up bills to the prosecution reform.

Kim was nominated as the successor to former Justice Lee Heung-koo, who left office on the 7th, and the National Assembly adopted his confirmation hearing report on the 16th. The appointment motion requires a quorum of more than half of all Assembly members and approval by a majority of those present.

Also on the agenda for the plenary session are follow-up bills to the 'prosecution reform' that passed the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, including amendments to the Act on the Investigation of Serious Crimes (the law governing a body dedicated to investigating serious crimes such as corruption) and the Prosecutors' Disciplinary Act.
