Jensen Huang: NVIDIA Chip Sales to Double Next Year

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has forecast that the company's chip sales will double next year compared to this year. Speaking to reporters on Monday (local time) at a high-level AI summit held at Dumfries House in Scotland, UK, Huang cited the spread of AI as the driving force behind growing demand, saying, "Nearly every country we operate in wants to invest in AI." The forecast is notable as it confirms that AI demand is expanding beyond specific data center segments to the national level.

NVIDIA effectively monopolizes the market for graphics processing units (GPUs — semiconductors that handle complex computations such as screen rendering), which are essential for developing and running AI models. In its earnings report last month, the company projected that revenue for the next fiscal year, ending January 2028, would grow about 70%, and that revenue could double if supply chain volumes keep pace with demand.

NVIDIA shares rose following Huang's remarks. The stock closed at $219.34, up 2.54% from the previous trading day, after climbing as much as 2.8% intraday.
