National Assembly Audits Begin Simultaneously for Legislation-Judiciary, State Affairs, and Economy-Finance Committees

The National Assembly will launch government audits by eight standing committees, including the Legislation and Judiciary, State Affairs, and Strategy and Finance committees, simultaneously at 10 a.m. on the 6th. With this, all standing committees at the National Assembly will begin reviewing government agencies on the same day.

The Legislation and Judiciary Committee will examine seven institutions at 10 a.m. at the National Assembly: the Supreme Court (National Court Administration), the Judicial Research and Training Institute, the Korean Institute of Judicial Policy, the Judicial Officials Training Institute, the National Court Library, the Sentencing Commission, and the Ethics Auditor. The State Affairs Committee will review the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, the Korea Veterans Health and Medical Service Corporation, the Independence Hall of Korea, and 88 Tourist Development Co., while the Strategy and Finance Committee will examine the Ministry of Economy and Finance, all convening at the same time.

The Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee, the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and the Public Administration and Security Committee will also begin their audits at 10 a.m. The Science and ICT Committee has designated 11 institutions, including the Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea Post, the National Radio Research Agency, the Central Radio Management Office, the National Science Museum, and the Gwacheon National Science Museum. The Foreign Affairs Committee will audit five institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korea Foundation, the Korea-Africa Foundation, and the Overseas Koreans Agency. The Public Administration Committee has set 10 institutions as audit targets, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the Special Investigation Committee for the October 29 Itaewon Tragedy, the National Information Society Agency, the Korea Elevator Safety Agency, the May 18 Memorial Foundation, the Foundation for Victims of Forced Mobilization under Japanese Colonial Rule, the Civic Ethics Council, the New Village Movement Central Council, and the Korea Freedom League.

The Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee will review the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, while the Climate, Energy, Environment and Labor Committee will examine the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.
