President Lee Jae-myung shared a column by former Seoul Superintendent of Education Cho Hee-yeon on X (formerly Twitter) on the 9th, writing, "What's more of a problem is that those who lack the capability launch internal attacks under the banner of radical reform." From Cho's piece, President Lee directly quoted the line, "What turned comrades into enemies? It began as a pure aspiration for a better world," as well as the passages, "Beating up comrades is not for the revolution; beating up comrades itself becomes the revolution," and "Once revolution (a self-sacrificing movement) becomes the establishment (power), the perspective of vested interests seeps in, and the dynamics of self-interested politics and factional politics take over." The remarks appear aimed at Gyeonggi Governor Choo Mi-ae's offensive.

In a Facebook post the previous night, Governor Choo claimed that, in connection with the Channel A case, National Police Agency Commissioner nominee Kim Ji-yong blocked the investigation by refusing to approve the allocation of 400 million won for the forensic analysis (digital evidence examination) of Rep. Han Dong-hoon's mobile phone. Despite a warning from party leader Kim Min-seok to rein it in, Governor Choo continued her criticism on the 7th, saying, "He changed his story for the sake of his career."
