Jung Jeom-sik: "Song Mi-ryung, Yoon Ho-jung and Lee Eok-won must resign"
Jung Jeom-sik, floor leader of the People Power Party, on the 11th called on Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Minister Song Mi-ryung, Interior and Safety Minister Yoon Ho-jung and Financial Services Commission Chairman Lee Eok-won to take responsibility and resign, respectively, over the 'farmland disaster,' the 'public safety disaster' and the 'stock market disaster,' at a press briefing at the National Assembly. Floor leader Jung said, "The most notable point from last week's parliamentary audits was the three major policy disasters caused by the Lee Jae-myung government's hasty governance," adding, "If they feel the resignation demands are unfair, I hope they will come forward before the people during the remaining audit period and reveal who the real culprits behind the three policy disasters are."
Regarding FSC Chairman Lee Eok-won, Jung said, "He has cast himself as a 'Cheong Wa Dae fall guy,' suggesting that the single-stock leveraged ETF, which inflicted losses worth tens of trillions of won on the public, was decided by the FSC on its own rather than on Cheong Wa Dae's orders," and countered, "If so, the chairman should take responsibility and resign, yet the fact that he remains in his post must be because he was assigned the job of taking the bullet."
Assessing the first week of the audits, floor leader Jung criticized, "The Lee Jae-myung government is a bad administration that is irresponsible on policies for the people but meticulous about divvying up posts." He also stressed that during the remaining audit period, "We will thoroughly dig into the parachute and crony appointments driven by the Seongnam-Gyeonggi line's job-sharing brand of personnel management."
