President Lee Jae-myung criticizes media coverage on X for fourth straight day
The Democratic Party of Korea pushed back on Oct. 31 against media reports criticizing President Lee Jae-myung's remarks on foreign workers, saying they "nitpick isolated words to distort his true meaning."
With the unusual situation of the president personally attacking the press continuing, the question remains: what exactly was said at the Cabinet meeting on the 27th that ignited the controversy?
President Lee, who began using social media in earnest after his September trip to the United Nations and Mexico, posted more than 160 items on X during October alone. At a luncheon with reporters marking his 500th day in office on the 19th of last month, he described social media as his "lifeline" and "breathing space."
