The National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee will hold a plenary meeting on the 9th and begin its ministry-by-ministry review of next year's budget proposal — the second budget plan of the Lee Jae-myung government. Partisan battles are set to intensify over the budget proposal, the largest in history at 820.9 trillion won.

Attending the meeting will be economic ministers and agency heads, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lee Hyung-il and Planning and Budget Minister Park Hong-keun.

The committee will wrap up the ministry-by-ministry review of economic ministries by the 10th, followed by a two-day review of non-economic ministries on the 11th and 12th. The budget adjustment subcommittee, which reviews cuts and increases to the budget proposal, will begin its work on the 16th. The legal deadline for the National Assembly to pass the new year's budget in a plenary session is December 2.
