Negative Assessment of Presidential Performance Falls 3.3%p, from 63.4% to 60.1%

The president's job performance received a positive rating of 37.9%.

According to a wireless RDD automated response survey (ARS) conducted by RealMeter from September 20 to 22, 2026, covering 1,508 men and women aged 18 or older nationwide, 37.9% of respondents evaluated the president's job performance positively, while 60.1% evaluated it negatively. Positive and negative responses combined account for 98%, with the remainder classified as non-responses or reserved judgments.

Positive Job Performance Rating Rises for Third Consecutive Week

The trend in job performance ratings shows the positive rating continuing its upward trajectory. After standing at 33.8% in the September 14 survey, the positive rating rose to 34.8% in the September 21 survey and reached 37.9% in the latest survey—a rise for three consecutive surveys. Compared with the previous survey on September 21, it is up 3.1 percentage points, and compared with the September 14 survey, up 4.1 percentage points.

The negative rating moved in the opposite direction. After registering 63.3% in the September 14 survey and 63.4% in the September 21 survey, the negative rating fell to 60.1% in the latest survey—down 3.3 percentage points from the previous survey and 3.2 percentage points from two weeks earlier.

Party Support: People Power Party 39.4%, Democratic Party 38.7%

In party support, the People Power Party recorded 39.4%, while the Democratic Party of Korea posted 38.7%. With a gap of 0.7 percentage points, within the margin of error (±2.5%p at a 95% confidence level), the two parties are in a statistical dead heat with no significant difference.

In this survey, support for the People Power Party rose 0.9 percentage points from the September 21 survey (38.5%), though it is down 2.7 percentage points compared with the September 14 survey (42.1%). The Democratic Party of Korea fell from 40.2% in the September 21 survey to 38.7%, a decline of 1.5 percentage points. However, that is up 2.6 percentage points compared with the September 14 survey (36.1%).

Support for other parties stood at 4% for the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, 2.9% for the Reform Party, and 1.4% for the Progressive Party. The Cho Kuk Innovation Party fell 1.2 percentage points from the September 21 survey (5.2%) and 0.7 percentage points from the September 14 survey (4.7%). The Reform Party rose 1 percentage point from the previous survey (1.9%) and 1.6 percentage points from the September 14 survey (1.3%). The Progressive Party climbed from 0.9% in the September 21 survey to 1.4%, up 0.5 percentage points.
