Busan City Council to Review First Supplementary Budget Bill of the Year, Worth 18 Trillion Won
The Busan City Council will officially begin deliberations on the first supplementary budget bill for fiscal year 2026 starting on the 20th.
The supplementary budget bill, requested by Busan City, is valued at 18.2124 trillion won, an increase of 281.3 billion won (1.6%) compared to the 2026 regular budget. The Budget and Accounts Committee plans to closely examine the budget allocated for purposes such as supporting small business owners and traditional markets, and restoring citizens' daily lives through the improvement of public services.
Cho Sang-jin, Chairman of the Budget and Accounts Committee, stated, "While actively reflecting projects for livelihood support and regional economic recovery, we will rigorously review the urgency and necessity of projects, considering the nature of a supplementary budget designed to respond to urgent and unavoidable demands that arose after the regular budget was set." The supplementary budget bill approved by the Budget and Accounts Committee will be finally confirmed in the plenary session on the 24th.
