Trump Says 'No Troop Deployment,' Faces Opposition Backlash Over $200 Billion War Budget Request

US President Donald Trump officially denied rumors of ground troop deployment, stating, "We will not deploy troops anywhere." President Trump added that the US is not currently deploying troops and would not disclose any deployment plans even if they existed. He mentioned that the US possesses weapons capable of ending the situation immediately but is acting cautiously at present, emphasizing that the military must secure vast quantities of ammunition and remain in peak condition.

The $200 billion war budget request, reportedly submitted by the White House to Congress (amounting to approximately 300 trillion won), suggests the possibility that the current situation may not be confined to a short-term, localized conflict. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of the Democratic Party pointed out that this budget is larger than that allocated during the Iraq War and even the total aid package for Ukraine, criticizing the proposal as a dangerous signal that hints at a prolonged war. In reality, the US Department of Defense recently forward-deployed the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, comprising 2,200 personnel, to the Middle East.

Despite the denial of ground troop involvement, a large-scale budget request and military buildup are proceeding simultaneously.
