U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 10-day extension to the pause on strikes against Iranian energy facilities, pushing the deadline to April 6. The announcement signaled that negotiations remain ongoing. Trump stated on social media on March 26 (local time) that, following a request from the Iranian government, the moratorium on striking power plants would be extended until 8 p.m. Eastern Time on April 6. Previously, on March 23, he had indicated that talks with Iran were underway and a five-day suspension of strikes would be in effect until March 27. He further commented that the negotiations were continuing and progressing smoothly.

This extension is seen as part of a broader diplomatic and military strategy. Attacks on energy facilities could lead to international legal disputes and civilian casualties, suggesting a calculation by the U.S. to manage diplomatic burdens while seeking favorable terms in negotiations.
