Kim Myung-sik, a preliminary candidate for Jincheon County Mayor from the Democratic Party of Korea, strongly protested the Jincheon Times' report, pointing out that it was published without verifying facts with himself, his campaign team, or the election commission.

Preliminary Candidate Kim indicated that the information had been spread systematically through group chats of rival candidates, stating that he would thoroughly investigate and respond, including whether specific forces were involved in the production and dissemination of the information.

Kim stated, "Falsehood and distortion are serious crimes that shake democracy," and declared that he would seek accountability using all possible legal and administrative means if his demands were not met.
