Iran Warns of Ceasefire Deal Collapse Over Hezbollah Exclusion

Iran has publicly warned that it could scrap the entire agreement, protesting Hezbollah's exclusion from a two-week ceasefire pact with the United States. Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated on social media platform X on the 8th (local time), "The Iran-US ceasefire terms are clear and explicit. The US must choose between a ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both."

The Trump administration is maintaining its stance that this ceasefire agreement does not include Hezbollah, an armed group supported by Iran. Hezbollah had previously broken a ceasefire agreement signed with Israel in November 2024, brokered by the US, and re-engaged in hostilities against Israel on March 20, 2025, in support of Iran.

Israel is continuing its military operations in Lebanon, which Iran views as a failure by the US to uphold its obligations under the agreement.
