People Power Party Single-Nominates Kim Dae-young for Ansan Mayor

The People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee decided on the 9th to single-nominate candidate Kim Dae-young for the Gyeonggi Ansan Mayor position. The committee stated that although it had initially planned to hold a primary election for the Ansan Mayor candidacy, a unification was achieved without a separate primary process as candidates Kim Dae-young and Kim Cheol-hyeon reached an agreement ahead of candidate registration, leading to the single nomination.

Park Deok-heum, Chairman of the People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee, urged Supreme Council members and others participating in primaries to refrain from making remarks about their own elections in public forums, such as official party meetings, to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings or fairness disputes.

Chairman Park urged all party officials and candidates to approach the upcoming local elections with an attitude of prioritizing the party over personal interests for victory. This statement is interpreted as being mindful of situations where Supreme Council member Kim Jae-won criticized a specific candidate and Supreme Council member Yang Hyang-ja pointed out an "abnormal nomination process."
