Arrest over Iran-linked plot to assassinate ex-Israeli PM
A 22-year-old Israeli man has been arrested by authorities for his alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate a former Israeli prime minister, backed by Iran. Israeli officials are holding the man in connection with Iran's terror plot targeting high-ranking officials, including former premiers.
The arrested 22-year-old man, Ami Gaydarov, has been involved in intelligence gathering and bomb-making, among other activities, since August of last year, in contact with Iranian handlers.
He received approximately $23,000 for carrying out the mission, the majority of which was paid in cryptocurrency.
