Lee Jin-sook Protests Exclusion from Daegu Mayoral Primary

Lee Jin-sook, former Chairwoman of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), has protested her exclusion from the People Power Party's (PPP) Daegu mayoral primary, calling it an "unfair process." She defined 'party before self' as sacrificing personal interests for the party, and questioned whether it is true 'party before self' to defend the party itself, which she claims has caused a plunge in public approval and reduced election victory rates by unfairly excluding candidates from the primary.

Lee presented the results of a survey by Yuronsa-kkot (Survey Flower) showing her with the highest support at 33.7% in a suitability poll for the PPP's Daegu mayoral candidate, asserting this reflects 'public sentiment.'

Amidst internal party nomination conflicts causing delays in candidate confirmation, Lee has consistently stated her willingness to run as an independent if she fails to secure the party's nomination.
