South Korea's National Debt Rose to 1,305 Trillion Won, 49% of GDP Last Year
Last year, South Korea's national debt stood at 1,304.5 trillion won, with the debt-to-GDP ratio reaching 49.0%.
The national debt grew by 129.4 trillion won from the previous year, marking the largest single-year increase since official statistics began in 1997.
The debt-to-GDP ratio climbed 3.0 percentage points to 49.0% from 46.0%, representing the steepest annual increase in five years, since 2020.
