Democrat Ahn Ho-young on Second Day of Hunger Strike Over Primary Results
Rep. Ahn Ho-young of the Democratic Party is continuing his hunger strike protest for the second day on the 12th, demanding an ethics re-investigation into Rep. Lee Won-taek, who was selected as the party's candidate for Jeonbuk Governor, while protesting the results of the June 3 local elections primary. Rep. Ahn Ho-young raised issues with the primary results after losing to Rep. Lee Won-taek in the Democratic Party's Jeonbuk Governor primary for the June 3 local elections.
On the 12th, Rep. Ahn began his hunger strike protest in front of the National Assembly Main Building in Yeouido, Seoul, demanding that an ethics re-investigation be conducted into Rep. Lee.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is actively recruiting diverse talents and proceeding with candidate nominations ahead of the June 3 local elections, including efforts to recruit Ha Jung-woo, Senior Presidential Secretary for AI Future Planning, for the Busan Buk-gu Gap constituency.
