President Lee Jae-myung Holds Summit with Polish Prime Minister
President Lee Jae-myung held a summit meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the 13th. The two countries discussed ways to strengthen their strategic partnership in various fields.
Kang Yoo-jung, Senior Secretary to the President for Public Affairs, stated that Poland has been strengthening mutually beneficial defense cooperation with Korea amidst growing geopolitical uncertainties. Notably, Poland signed a third executive contract worth 5.6 trillion won with Hanwha Aerospace in December last year for the supply of Chunmoo guided missiles with a range of 80 km.
The visit by Prime Minister Tusk marks the first bilateral visit to South Korea by a Polish prime minister in 27 years and his first bilateral visit to a non-European country since taking office.
