Daejeon City Launches Drone Talent Development Initiative for Vocational Students
Daejeon City, the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, and the Korea Expressway Corporation Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch have launched the 'EX-Drone Academy' to cultivate 'practical drone talent' among vocational high school students. This initiative aims to produce professionals equipped with practical skills immediately applicable in industrial settings. Each participating institution will share its specialized infrastructure to provide integrated support throughout the drone talent development process. The 'EX-Drone Academy' will assist vocational high school students aspiring for careers in the drone field by supporting their professional certification acquisition.
The Korea Expressway Corporation is opening its advanced facilities and equipment to the educational field, enabling students to learn drone operation skills in an environment closely resembling actual work sites. Daejeon City will provide customized employment services, integrated with existing youth policies, to help students transition smoothly into society after completing the program. These services include individual career path design, linkage with employment policies, and referrals to promising recruiting companies.
This program offers students the opportunity to grow into professionals who will lead the future drone industry. Through this project, students will develop the professional qualifications and rich field experience necessary to excel before graduation, facilitating their entry into various advanced industrial sectors such as public institutions, defense industry companies, and drone service providers. The local industry benefits from a stable supply of practical technical talent ready for immediate deployment.
