US-Iran Truce Deadline Looms, No Extension Expected
The US-Iran truce deadline is set to expire without an extension. The US is making its intention clear to bring an early end to the war with Iran. President Trump expressed optimism that an agreement with Iran was highly likely by the end of April, and the White House officially stated that it had not requested an extension of the truce deadline set for April 21.
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt clarified, 'There have been false reports that the US officially requested a truce extension,' stating, 'As of now, that is not the case.' This is seen as pressure on Iran to accept the US's proposed terms for ending the conflict without further delay.
Meanwhile, it has been understood that a key figure from Pakistan delivered the US's final negotiation proposal to Iran. Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir, acting as a mediator, visited Iran and met with the Foreign Minister, reportedly conveying the US's final proposal to the Iranian side.
