US Re-pursues Federal Adoption of AI Model 'Mythos'

The US government is once again pushing for the introduction of Anthropic's artificial intelligence (AI) model, 'Mythos,' into major federal agencies. Mythos has demonstrated its capability to identify critical software bugs during internal testing.

Anthropic had previously limited the public scope of this model due to concerns about potential exploitation by hackers. In an email to officials across various departments, White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) Gregory Barbaria stated that the OMB is developing safeguards for the use of Mythos. This email was sent to the Departments of Defense, Treasury, Commerce, Homeland Security, Justice, and State.

No specific adoption schedule has been presented, and it was conveyed that additional information would be provided 'in the coming weeks.'
