North Korea Fires 7th Ballistic Missile of the Year
The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the morning of the 19th that North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile eastward. Military authorities are currently analyzing the exact specifications, flight range, and altitude of the projectile. South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies are tracking North Korea's missile launch trends and sharing relevant information.
This launch comes 11 days after North Korea fired ballistic missiles twice into the East Sea on the 8th. North Korea also launched a projectile on the 7th, which was assessed to have disintegrated in mid-air.
North Korea has continued its missile launches this year, having previously fired ballistic missiles on January 4th, January 27th, and March 14th. The Japanese Ministry of Defense assessed that the projectile landed outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
