Samsung Electronics Expands Treasury Stock Holdings with 7 Trillion Won Buyback

Samsung Electronics has purchased approximately 36.67 million of its own issued shares for about 7.17 trillion won, increasing its total treasury stock holdings to approximately 82.08 million shares.

This move is interpreted as an effort by the company to enhance shareholder value by acquiring more of its own stock.

The company consistently continued its share repurchases over the past month, even when the stock price exceeded 200,000 won, executing these transactions through various brokerage firms.

With the completion of this treasury stock acquisition, Samsung Electronics' total holdings of its own common stock have increased to 82,086,705 shares. This is part of the company's plan, announced last year, to repurchase and retire 10 trillion won worth of treasury stock by 2024.
