U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on March 29 (local time) to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine and key issues related to Iran. The call is drawing particular attention as it explored the possibility of establishing peace in Ukraine ahead of Russia's Victory Day on May 9.

President Trump confirmed that he discussed a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine during his call with President Putin. President Putin, meanwhile, warned of a potential resumption of attacks and ground war against Iran by the United States and Israel.

President Trump stated that while President Putin expressed willingness to assist with Iran's enriched uranium issue, he told Putin to focus on ending the Ukraine war. The 2015 Iran nuclear deal included provisions for Iran's uranium to be transferred to Russia.

When asked which war would end first, the one in Ukraine or the one in Iran, President Trump responded that both wars seemed to be on a similar timeline.
