Democratic Lawmaker Who Criticized Trump Faces 'Bitter' Political Reality After FBI Raid
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has raided the office of Democratic Senator L. Louise Lucas and associated businesses. Law enforcement sources confirmed that the raid on Lucas's office and her cannabis retail business occurred Wednesday as part of a court-authorized federal investigation into corruption and illegal marijuana sales. A total of 10 locations linked to Senator Lucas were targeted by the FBI. The FBI is reportedly expanding its investigation into allegations of federal corruption and illegal marijuana sales. One law enforcement source stated that the corruption probe was initiated by the FBI during the Biden administration.
The incident has led to Senator Lucas facing political backlash, with her past remarks criticizing former President Donald Trump, such as "no one is above the law," being resurfaced and drawing renewed attention. Conservative commentators have pointed to a 2022 post by Lucas, where she stated, "I hope the FBI sees the overwhelming numbers at Mar-a-Lago today will be the same on November 8th," criticizing the current situation as having "aged well." Critics have mocked her by invoking the slogan "10-1," asking "How about 10 to life?" or referencing her own words: "Louise Lucas asked a Fox News reporter where else the FBI is raiding. apparently 10 locations. there is a '10-1' joke in there."
Meanwhile, there has been pushback against the raids. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas posted on his X account, "They ought to leave Louise Lucas alone." Virginia House Speaker Don Scott issued a statement expressing deep concern over the FBI's actions. Scott added that given the politicization of the administration, particularly the FBI under Kash Patel and the Department of Justice run by former President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, people should wait until facts are established.
