Jung Soo-kyung, director of the Yangjae 2-dong daycare center, published an opinion piece on the current state of infant and early childhood education in South Korea. Director Jung participated in the 'Protect Our Children's Time' series of opinion pieces jointly organized by Baby News and the No Private Education Worries for Korea Forum for Infants and Early Childhood Education. A total of 26 education experts contributed to the series, offering suggestions on the impact of early private education on child development and the societal role in ensuring age-appropriate learning.

Director Jung pointed out the problem of premature learning, citing the reality of 4-year-olds taking English level tests and daycare classrooms becoming empty by age 5. Despite the Nuri Curriculum emphasizing learning through play, children aged 3 and older are moving towards special activities or English academies. As parental interest focuses more on learning-oriented programs than play-based education, parents appear to show greater interest in flashy special activity brochures and packed schedules during consultations for new enrollees, rather than the child's daily life.

Through her contribution, Director Jung highlighted that early advanced learning does not accelerate child development but rather robs them of time for play and exploration.
