Trump Willing to Meet Kim Jong Un Anytime

The White House has stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is willing to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un anytime and without preconditions. The White House reaffirmed President Trump's willingness to engage with the North Korean leadership in response to a query from VOA (Voice of America). This question came in response to whether there were plans to coordinate with China for potential engagement with North Korea at an upcoming U.S.-China summit.

Previously, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik conveyed after a meeting with President Trump at the White House last month that Trump had spoken positively about meeting Chairman Kim Jong Un.

President Trump held three summit meetings with Chairman Kim Jong Un during his first term in 2018 and 2019, but denuclearization talks did not reach a final agreement. The White House avoided a direct answer regarding the possibility of the North Korean issue being discussed at the upcoming U.S.-China summit.
