Democratic Party Finalizes 104 Candidates for Gwangju Area

The Democratic Party has finalized its list of 104 candidates for the June 1 local elections, drawing significant public interest. The Democratic Party's Gwangju chapter announced the final list of 104 nominees on the 9th.

The confirmed candidate list includes 50 female candidates (48.1%) and 12 youth candidates under the age of 45.

Nominated candidates for district chief positions are Im Taek for Dong-gu, Kim Yi-gang for Seo-gu, Kim Byung-nae for Nam-gu, Shin Su-jeong for Buk-gu, and Park Byung-gyu for Gwangsan-gu. The breakdown includes 5 district chiefs, 24 metropolitan council members, 62 local council members, 3 metropolitan proportional representatives, and 10 local proportional representatives.

For metropolitan proportional representation, candidates nominated include Lee Soon-hwa for the disability sector, Park Min-young for the youth sector, and Park Man-i for the labor sector.
