Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Launches 'Data Safe Zone' to Foster Financial AI Innovation

The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF) is building a 'Data Safe Zone' to safely support artificial intelligence (AI) research and data utilization in the financial sector. To this end, it has been selected for a support project promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Data Industry Agency and has signed an agreement.

KCGF has completed technical verification of over 1.5 million pieces of AI-generated synthetic data and established a data supply system that blocks the risk of personal information leakage, thereby building key infrastructure for the development of the financial AI industry. The 'AI Insight Lab,' established last year, will be converted into a Data Safe Zone, creating an environment where companies can analyze and utilize sensitive financial and credit data using AI technology without fear of external leakage. Through this, KCGF plans to help advance the financial AI industry and effectively pursue data-driven policy tasks.

A total of nine public institutions, including KCGF, are participating in this project, strengthening cooperation systems centered on expanding the utilization of unreleased data, cloud connectivity for joint data utilization, and the establishment of an integrated Data Safe Zone portal.
