Seoul Mayoral Candidates Compete on Pledges for Property Tax Relief, Small Business Support
Jung Won-oh of the Democratic Party and Oh Se-hoon of the People Power Party, candidates for the upcoming June 3rd local elections' Seoul mayoral race, drew voter attention on the 13th by announcing their respective pledges.
On the 13th, candidate Jung Won-oh held a press conference at the National Assembly and announced a pledge to temporarily reduce property tax increases for single-home owners who are retired and have no income. Candidate Oh Se-hoon, at his election office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, announced a pledge to expand the total policy loan fund for small business owners from the current 2.42 trillion won to 3 trillion won and lower the actual interest rate.
Kim Jae-sup, a People Power Party lawmaker and co-chair of Oh Se-hoon's campaign committee, attacked Jung by mentioning his past assault conviction. Jung's campaign responded by calling it 'malicious smear propaganda' and stated they would file a complaint against Rep. Kim.
