Independent candidate Han Dong-hoon and People Power Party candidate Park Min-shik, running in the by-election for the National Assembly seat in Busan's North-Gap constituency, have criticized each other over the reasons for the slow pace of regional development. The candidates' exchange of accusations is expected to significantly influence the election as they debate who can best lead regional development.

Candidate Park Min-shik accused Han Dong-hoon of trying to evade his own inadequacies by insulting former lawmakers with 'vulgar language.' Park argued that such remarks trample upon the choices of residents who elected him and former lawmakers as representatives of the North-Gap district. He criticized 'vulgar politics' that trample down opponents in a manner of 'enemies to be killed,' stating such politics cannot take root in North-Gap. Park emphasized that even though he and former lawmakers had faced off four times in general elections, resulting in two wins and two losses, they respected the residents' choices and did not disparage their opponents.

Candidate Han Dong-hoon asserted that People Power Party candidate Park Min-shik and Democratic Party candidate Jeon Jae-soo have failed to contribute to the development of Busan's North-Gap constituency over the past 20 years as lawmakers.
