Ko Sung-guk Urges Park Geun-hye to Call for 'Purge' of Han Dong-hoon
Right-wing YouTuber Ko Sung-guk has urged former President Park Geun-hye to label Han Dong-hoon, a candidate for the National Assembly by-election in Busan's Buk-gap constituency under the People Power Party, as a 'traitor' and to appeal for his 'purge,' calling on her to participate in campaigning for him. Ko stated on his YouTube live broadcast that former President Park should actively campaign in support of Park Min-sik, the People Power Party candidate for Busan Buk-gap.
Ko cited Han Dong-hoon's request for a 30-year prison sentence for former President Park during his time as a prosecutor, defining this as 'betrayal.' He argued that former President Park must lend her support to 'correct the history of betrayal.' He added that it could be a historic achievement in rectifying the betrayal of the liberal right-wing if former President Park were to appear in Busan Buk-gap and appeal for the 'purge of the traitor.'
Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon requested a 30-year prison sentence for former President Park Geun-hye during the final sentencing hearing of the first trial for the special affairs state corruption case in February 2018. Subsequently, Han Dong-hoon, then interim leader of the People Power Party, visited former President Park Geun-hye's residence in March 2024 and had a conversation.
Former President Park Geun-hye is visiting a campaign rally site for the first time in nine years since her impeachment in 2017, and is continuing her nationwide tour to support People Power Party candidates ahead of the June local elections.
