Gwangsan Candidates Vying Over Pledges for AI-Driven Future Industries

Candidates running in the June 3 Gwangsan B National Assembly by-election have announced pledges for transforming the local industrial complexes into future-oriented industries utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

Gwangsan District is a densely populated area with key manufacturing hubs like Hanam, Pyeongdong, and Jingok industrial complexes, as well as aging industrial sites. As the digital transformation and fostering of future industries in this region have become major issues, candidates have presented development plans linking industrial complexes with AI.

Candidate Im pledged to foster the future vehicle industry and expand participation from local parts suppliers, based on establishing an autonomous driving test city. Candidate Ahn stated that he would secure the region's future industrial competitiveness by upgrading industrial complexes, expanding smart factories, and bolstering AI infrastructure.
