Lee Jang-woo: 'Cannot Entrust Daejeon to Incompetent Candidate'

Lee Jang-woo, the Daejeon mayoral candidate for the People Power Party, appealed for citizen support on June 2, one day ahead of the local election voting. At a press conference held at the Daejeon City Council press room that day, Lee expressed condolences for the victims of the explosion accident at the Hanwha Aerospace Daejeon plant, stating, 'We pray for the souls of those who lost precious lives and offer our deepest sympathy to the bereaved families.'

Lee criticized political behavior that hinders Daejeon's development, pointing out, 'There are candidates who are running for election by leveraging the president's backing, but the president is only visiting the Yeongnam region, bypassing Daejeon.'

He went on to mention the Democratic Party leader's alleged active support for the relocation of 'Gyeryong Spatel' to Gyeryong City, South Chungcheong Province, and stated, 'We cannot entrust Daejeon's future to an incompetent candidate.'
