Netanyahu, Trump Had Heated Call Over Iran Talks
U.S. President Donald Trump had an angry phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the escalation of attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Axios, citing anonymous sources, reported that Trump admonished Netanyahu, arguing that Israel's expanded strikes could halt peace talks with Iran.
Netanyahu's office confirmed a call between the two leaders but stated that there were no profanities or personal attacks as reported. The conversation was described as the most acrimonious between the two leaders.
Following Trump's pressure, Israel reportedly withdrew its plans for airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Beirut.
