Export Prices Climb for 11th Consecutive Month on Semiconductor Surge
Export prices have risen for 11 consecutive months. The prices of IT products, including semiconductors, saw a significant increase, pushing the relevant export price index to its highest level in 15 years and 10 months.
A primary driver of the export price surge was the rise in prices for computers, electronics, and optical equipment. The export prices for these items increased by 5.4% from the previous month. The export price index for computers, electronics, and optical equipment reached 208.98, marking its highest point since July 2010, or 15 years and 10 months ago. This trend could affect the export competitiveness of domestic companies and the pricing of goods in overseas markets.
In contrast, import prices declined by 0.3% from the previous month, influenced by falling international oil prices, marking a second consecutive month of decrease following April.
