Court Employee Sent to Prosecutors for Accessing Miryang Gang Sex Assault Perpetrators' Personal Information

A court employee has come under investigation by prosecutors for allegedly illegally accessing the personal information of perpetrators involved in the past Miryang gang sex assault case. The Seoul Mapo Police Station announced on the 16th that it formally transferred Mr. A, a public official affiliated with the Seoul Western District Court, to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on the 12th on charges of violating the Personal Information Protection Act.

Mr. A is alleged to have accessed the resident registration information of approximately 10 perpetrators involved in the case without authorization, using the court's computer system during his employment.

Recently, the victim and their sibling in this case were also investigated by police on suspicion of providing the perpetrators' personal information to a YouTuber.
