Samsung Electronics unveiled its 'Connected Care' vision at Paris VivaTech, revealing plans to create an 'open healthcare ecosystem' where various devices and services connect to proactively manage individual health, thereby expanding health management to prevent illnesses in daily life.

Samsung Electronics held a panel discussion themed 'An Invitation to a Healthier Tomorrow' at 'VivaTech 2026' in Paris, France. At the event, the company shared its future vision of connecting its own devices with partner healthcare technologies, presenting a strategy to move beyond a post-illness treatment-centric approach towards proactive health management in everyday life.

The discussion featured Park Heon-soo, Head of Samsung Electronics MX Business Unit Digital Health Team, David Lee, Head of Samsung NEXT Center, Mike McSherry, CEO of Whee AI, Alina Sue, CEO of Generation Lab, and Michael Dubrovsky, CEO of Sypox Health, among others. They discussed the future of healthcare with an audience of over 1,000 attendees.

David Lee, Head of Samsung NEXT Center, stated that the future of health cannot be built by a single company alone but must be created through the innovation and collaborative ecosystem of multiple companies. Park Heon-soo, Head of Samsung Electronics MX Business Unit Digital Health Team, highlighted Samsung Electronics' strengths in its vast user base, including 77 million Samsung Health users and 460 million SmartThings subscribers worldwide, and its diverse device ecosystem, explaining that the foundation is in place for healthcare services to connect with everyday devices.

Mike McSherry, CEO of Whee AI, shared that the focus is on bridging the gap between hospital treatment and daily management. Alina Sue, CEO of Generation Lab, discussed solutions for managing aging at home, while Michael Dubrovsky, CEO of Sypox Health, presented services that enable health management through at-home blood tests.

Samsung Electronics added that by connecting various partner devices to SmartThings, users can leverage all home devices and services within a single environment, expanding the care experience to encompass not just individuals but also family members and even pet management, covering all aspects of life.

Partner executives also praised Samsung's ecosystem and execution capabilities as strengths for collaboration. Alina Sue, CEO of Generation Lab, expressed amazement at Samsung's willingness to collaborate with partners, noting that combining forces with Samsung devices used daily by people can bring about faster innovation in their lives. Michael Dubrovsky, CEO of Sypox Health, added that Samsung's device ecosystem is already deeply integrated into daily life, and Sypox will add 'diagnostic' tools to provide services that were difficult to experience outside of a hospital setting.

To support the open healthcare ecosystem, the 'Samsung Health SDK Suite' was introduced. This Software Development Kit (SDK) allows developers to create new services by integrating Samsung's advanced sensor technology and health platform. Security technology for protecting sensitive health information was also a topic of discussion. Samsung Electronics stated that it is enhancing personal information and device security by applying its own security solution, 'Knox,' not only to mobile devices but also to various other devices, ensuring users can confidently utilize healthcare solutions.
