Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon stated to those around him immediately after winning the June 3rd by-election in Busan's Buk-gap constituency, "It was a close call." Woo Jae-joon, a People Power Party lawmaker considered part of Han's inner circle, shared this statement on YTN Radio's 'Jang Sung-cheol's News Square' on the 22nd. According to Woo, Han called him right after his victory to express that it "was a close call."

The vote count revealed that Han secured 35,056 votes, defeating Democratic Party candidate Ha Jung-woo, who received 33,664 votes, by a margin of 1,392 votes.

Regarding the timing of Han Dong-hoon's return to the People Power Party, Woo Jae-joon commented, "From Han's perspective, there's no major issue with a gradual return," adding, "His two-year term is guaranteed." Woo argued that the party should not delay Han's reinstatement for too long, considering the party's dereliction of duty and the judgment of the Busan citizens.

Woo Jae-joon also revealed that he had not visited Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, who is currently hospitalized in Seoul. He added that he was concerned his visit might cause Jang further stress.
