Lotte Beverage to Hike Wholesale Prices Starting from the 26th
Lotte Chilsung Beverage will raise prices for 44 items across 12 brands, including Chilsung Cider, by an average of 5.3% starting from the 26th. The company cited rising costs for packaging materials and raw ingredients, imported concentrates, and logistics as reasons for the adjustment, which marks the first increase in two years since June 2024.
The average price hike by brand is as follows: Let's Be 7.6%, E-Pro 6.9%, Gatorade 6.3%, Mountain Dew 6.1%, Milkyis 6.0%, Lipton 5.9%, Cantata 5.7%, Ceylon Tea 5.1%, Pepsi Cola 5.0%, Sol's Eye 4.4%, Chilsung Cider 4.3%, and Hot Six 4.0%.
Lotte Chilsung Beverage's price increase is part of a broader trend of price hikes across the food, beverage, and restaurant sectors that has emerged immediately after the June 3rd municipal elections. Numerous companies, including Theborn Korea, Mega Coffee, Ediya Coffee, Dongdaemun Yopki Tteokbokki, The Venti, Coffee Bean, and Lotteria, have already increased prices or announced plans to do so. Goobne Chicken, instead of raising prices, reduced the weight of its boneless chicken products from 800g to 700g.
