$400 Million Semiconductor Machine Powers Ultra-Fine Circuitry

Dutch company ASML is leading the way in realizing the ultra-fine circuits needed for the AI era. ASML's latest semiconductor manufacturing equipment is valued at $400 million (approximately 400 billion Korean Won).

ASML's new EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography machine uses lasers to generate extreme ultraviolet light from molten tin droplets. This equipment enables transistor functionality at an 8-nanometer (nm) resolution, significantly increasing precision compared to previous EUV machines (13 nanometers).

The machine boasts a massive scale, comparable to a double-decker bus and weighing over 150 tons. It is comprised of millions of parts and incorporates technology that stabilizes mirrors with atomic-level precision.
