Presidential Job Approval Falls to 51%, Down 6 Points

A survey conducted by Gallup Korea from June 23 to 25, 2026, among 1,000 adults nationwide via telephone interviews (CATI) revealed that presidential job performance received a 51% positive rating. Negative assessments stood at 41%, with 7% withholding their opinion.

Compared to the poll conducted on June 11, positive evaluations dropped by 6 percentage points from 57% to 51%. Negative assessments rose by 6 percentage points from 35% to 41%. Opinions withheld decreased by 1 percentage point from 8% to 7%.

Comparing with the earlier survey on May 21, presidential job approval ratings fell by 13 percentage points from 64% to 51%, while negative assessments rose by 13 percentage points from 28% to 41%. Opinions withheld decreased by 1 percentage point from 8% to 7%.

Party Support Status

In terms of party support, the Democratic Party of Korea garnered 41% of the vote. The People Power Party recorded 27%, and those without a party affiliation stood at 23%.

Compared to the previous survey on June 11, support for the Democratic Party remained unchanged at 41%. Support for the People Power Party fell by 2 percentage points from 29% to 27%, while the unaffiliated segment increased by 2 percentage points from 21% to 23%.

Compared to the survey on May 21, the Democratic Party's support declined by 4 percentage points from 45% to 41%. The People Power Party saw a 5 percentage point increase from 22% to 27%, while the unaffiliated segment decreased by 3 percentage points from 26% to 23%.

Economic Outlook for the Next Year

Regarding the economic outlook for the next year, 36% of respondents predicted it would 'improve.' The response 'worsen' was 35%, and 'remain the same' was projected by 24%.

In comparison to the previous survey on May 21, the 'improve' outlook decreased by 2 percentage points from 38% to 36%. The 'worsen' outlook rose by 4 percentage points from 31% to 35%, and the 'remain the same' outlook declined by 3 percentage points from 27% to 24%.
