SpaceX to Join Nasdaq 100 Index on July 7
SpaceX will be included in the Nasdaq 100 Index, a major U.S. Nasdaq stock market benchmark, starting July 7. This move marks SpaceX's inclusion in one of the key indices representing the performance of American technology companies. Nasdaq announced officially on the 26th (local time) that SpaceX will be added as a constituent stock of the Nasdaq 100 Index from July 7.
The Nasdaq 100 Index comprises the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq market, based on market capitalization. SpaceX was listed on the Nasdaq market on June 12. Its swift inclusion in the Nasdaq 100 Index shortly after its listing is an instance of Nasdaq's 'fast-track' provision for mega-cap companies.
J.P. Morgan estimates that approximately $4.3 billion (about 6.6 trillion Korean won) in passive funds will flow into SpaceX following its inclusion in the Nasdaq 100 Index. S&P Global stated that an evaluation for SpaceX's potential inclusion in the S&P 500 Index could be possible in 12 months.
