Councilman An Seok-bong Elected Geoje City Council Chairperson for First Half of Term

Councilman An Seok-bong of the Democratic Party of Korea has been elected chairperson for the first half of the 10th term of the Gyeongnam Geoje City Council. The Geoje City Council held the first plenary session of its 263rd extraordinary meeting on the 1st to conduct the election for chairperson, with Councilman Im Su-hwan of the People Power Party also elected as vice-chairperson.

Following the election of the leadership, Geoje Mayor Byun Kwang-yong visited the chairperson's and vice-chairperson's offices to congratulate the elected officials before the opening ceremony. Mayor Byun told Chairman An Seok-bong, 'I congratulate the strong start of the 10th Geoje City Council along with the 230,000 citizens.'

He added, 'The executive and city council will move forward together for Geoje's development with a spirit of integration and coexistence, balancing like the two wheels of a cart,' emphasizing cooperation.
