Kim Bo-mi, 36, the former chair of the Gangjin County Council in South Jeolla Province, officially declared her candidacy for the leadership of the Democratic Party at a press conference held at the party's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the 9th.
In the press conference held from inside the party membership hall, former Chairwoman Kim stated, "The Democratic Party, having lost fairness, has lost the youth, and a Democratic Party that has lost the youth has no future."
Appealing to the lack of jobs and economic pain, she added, "Stop branding [young people] as 'Ilbe,' conservative, or far-right; I will care for the lives of the youth."
